Wow- Idaho was amazing. I had never seen a real snow covered mountain. I had a wonderful time with all the ladies at the Assembly of God Southern Idaho District's Women's Retreat. Thanks so much to Gail and all the amazing women I had the pleasure of meeting in lovely Cascade, Idaho at the Trinity Pines Retreat Center. We all drew closer to the Lord during our weekend, and received a very special blessing. Praise be to God, "The Story of Gomer" touched many hearts at the retreat, and I was blessed to be able to come home with a very special Pastor's wife named Cathy.
She met me at the retreat and called her husband right then and there after seeing "Gomer" and asked if she could bring me home and if I could do "Gomer" the next day at their church in Riggins, Idaho. Well, thankfully, her husband (Senior pastor of Riggins Assembly of God) said yes, and there I was, traveling spur of the moment to a small canyon town, nestled between two huge mountains on the Samon River. Little did I know that I was going to the "White Water Capital of the World". The Pastor and his wife were gracious hosts, and the service at their church was a great experience. What stood out to me was their obedience to the Holy Spirit and that they were not afraid to let the Lord upset their plans for that Sunday. The Pastor could have easily said that he didn't want some strange girl to come and do a play he had never seen, but he was humble and loving and kind, and I will forever be touched by his faith. We hope to go back to Idaho some day. Please pray with us that the Lord opens the door! |
